From the time I was very little, my parents surrounded me with the Truth of God's Word. We were faithful to church and taught much in our home. Even at such an early age it became very obvious to me that I was a sinner. I knew from what I had been taught that this would keep me out of Heaven, and that worried me greatly. After talking to my mom and listening to her explain the Gospel, I prayed to receive Christ. During my teen years I struggled with assurance of my salvation. I began to lean on what I had done rather than what the Savior did for me. After battling hard for two years, I finally surrendered to the Lord and accepted the fact that He, and He alone, was all I needed. I realized that it wasn't up to me to be all that God had called me to be, I need only rest in His finished work. When I was a Junior in High School, I surrendered to full time Christian service, and through an unusual series of events, was led to Crown College. God has done much in my life to strengthen my walk with Him, and I look forward to seeing what He has in store for the days that lie ahead.
