About New Testament Church Pioneers

The command of the Saviour to take the gospel message to every creature is emphatic and personal – we are to go! There can be no substitute when obedience is required. Obedience to the command of Christ compels us to declare that Christ tasted death for every man, that whosever will may come. It is our task to aggressive go after lost sinners with the message of salvation. And since the Great Commission was given to the local church, it is the responsibility of each member of such a church to have a active part in church planting.

The work the Lord has given the New Testament church is simply defined: win souls to Christ and plant local churches. If the world is to hear of Christ, it will be because local churches fulfill their responsibility to reproduce their own church and send church planters to the four corners of the earth. Believers of all ages and every station of life are to have a vital role in the establishment of new local churches.

What about you?

The New Testament gives us examples of men and women, who were not professional missionaries, yet had a vital part in planting churches. The local churches of the first century evangelized their generation because each member saw the necessity to obey Christ’s last command – “Go.”

During the time it took you this paragraph, 100 children died from preventable diseases, ten children were sold or forced into the prostitution trade, five marriages ended in divorce, and 133 adults died without ever hearing the gospel. Yet, in the same time all of these tragic events have taken place, only one church has been established. The question is not, “Do New Testament churches need to be planted?” It is, “What part will I have in planting a local church?”
