Remembering Lee Waller
A True New Testament Pioneer
Lee Waller came to Crown College in 2005 from McDonough, Georgia to study Pastoral Theology. Almost immediately, he struck his instructors and classmates as a young man with a rare sense of urgency and purpose of life. No one was surprised when Lee was selected to be part of the New Testament Church Pioneer team in the spring of 2007.
After completing a rigorous training camp, Lee and his partners, Zach Gillit and Scott Davis, headed out for the western region of the United States. They had been fervently praying that God would give them a fruitful summer of ministry – winning the lost, training Christian workers, and encouraging pastors.
The Lord answered their prayers with wonderful meetings in their first weeks. But on June 11, 2007, in a remote part of Nevada, the vehicle in which the team was traveling overturned. Although his partners emerged relatively unharmed, Lee died as a result of his injuries at the age of 20.
Lee Waller left us an example of a true New Testament Pioneer.
“he being dead yet speaketh.” Hebrews 11:5
“He prayed with urgency, he witnessed with urgency, he lived his life with urgency”
~ Zach Gillit
“The last thing I will ever forget about Lee is that he prayed for me”
~ Scott Davis
